This is a list of things that Faculty leaders have to do to ensure consistency and learning happens. If you are a new faculty lead or are going to be interviewed here are some chalkface things to think about. This role is different as you must work between your team and management. Real life example used with a solution to help develop the skills need to lead. Helps you determine your values and consider where and what kind of resources answers you need.

Gifted and Talented Coordinator - Powerpoint

Useful for school leaders or Govt Education department education workers. What a gifted and talented Co-ordinator will do. I aim to start by looking at the aims of the Gifted and Talented Programme within the EIC. Next I will look at the Vision and then relate it to reality. I will then move on to show where we are at present and have used the information received in the Strategic plan to help with this. I will then move on to the future and what effect a co-ordinator will have on the LEA, the school and governors, the parents and the pupils.

Good Practice in the Bilingual/Trilingual Classroom - Powerpoint

Useful for Inset. Training Powerpoint to support all staff in creating and developing resources to support learning of their area. For all Staff Used to train hundreds of Teachers and Support staff in many schools across the UK. Whilst teaching in London I had classrooms where many learners were emerging or new language learners . It quickly became evident that they needed to learn the language of the school quickly as exam were important and they needed to access them. Therefore I introduced a new method of communicating where you take what the learners already knows in their own language and just convert the words. This can run alongside the provision for EAL where they learn the language. Our child had been taught in Welsh and struggled with English but no help was given even though other languages like Hindi and Greek were catered for. I knew she already knew words in Welsh she just needed to learn the equivelant in English.
A practical guide to supporting EAL and SEN/ALN Learners

A practical guide to supporting EAL and SEN/ALN Learners

(1)
A teachers book which is a practical guide of what the legislation actually looks like in a classroom. Evidence and text relating and being taught, directly to the chalk face. With the New welsh Curriculum expecting ALN and EAL issues not to stop a learners learning journey and elsewhere in the UK parents and school having more collaboration it means those in classrooms are expected to be able to teach using differentiated resources without any real input from practitioners. Hence this uses practitioners feedback to show what the legislation can look like in classrooms. This is no means exhaustive or the only way to do it just a way that some teachers are managing their workload when planning for all students in their school/cohort/class.
